SpecVetteTM Cuvettes SpecVettes are UV-transparent, short pathlength, disposable cuvettes especiallydesigned for use with the HR4000 and HR2000+ High-resolution Spectrometers. Economical and disposable, SpecVettes eliminate cross-contamination and reduce analyte consumption. SpecVettes are available in pathlengths of 250, 500, and 1000 microns and only require a few microliters of sample solution, eliminating the many challenges associated with measuring highly concentrated samples using traditional, short-path cuvettes. A special universal adapter makes SpecVettes useable with our CUV-ALL-UV cuvette holder. Other features include UV transparency to 220 nm, and an easy-to-fill pipette tip port, and optional valves and electrodes. About SpecVettes The design of the SpecVettes simplifies the measurement of UV-absorbing compounds such as tannins and phenols, which normally require dilution to use a standard 1 cm pathlength cuvette. SpecVettes are flat, rectangular cells with a simple inlet port that allows a 20-200 ?/font>L pipetter to fill the sample window either by dispensing or allowing the sample to be drawn into the sample chamber by capillary action. The SpecVette then slides into a 1 cm by 1 cm sample holder such as the CUV-ALL-UV. Each SpecVette contains two sample windows, making to possible to have a match sample and a blank on a single device. SpecVettes are sold in packs of 25, with or without the universal adapter. Two-piece sample packs are also available. SpecVettes are a product of ALine, Inc., which specializes in small-volume disposables for lab analysis. Universal Adapter A universal adapter is available to allow SpecVettes to be used with any spectrometer with a z-height of 12 to 20 mm. SpecVettes are compatible with the Ocean Optics HR4000 and HR2000+ Spectrometers when used with the universal adapter in the CUV-ALL-UV cuvette holder. Benefits -

A DH-2000-BAL light source was also used, along with the SpecVettes (500 ?/font>m pathlength) and the universal adapter. In Figure 2, 10 different cuvettes with the same wine sample were compared against a single water blank. In Figure 3, a series of 10 repeat measurements were taken with the same wine sample using the same water blank.
